MEET YOUR THERAPIST!
Charlotte White (she/her)
Registered Psychologist (MAPS)
If this is your first time to therapy or you’re returning to continue the work, it is a pleasure to have you here.
I am a Psychologist, introvert and animal lover. You will most often find me on the couch with my cats and my nose in a cozy fantasy book, or out for a walk with my dogs.
I created Being Human Psychology to provide a space for you to show up as your most authentic self, while exploring all the messy, beautiful and imperfect parts of being a human.
Feeling frazzled or stuck?
You're not alone. I believe that you're the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you on your journey. Together, we'll explore what's bringing you in for therapy and find ways to address it that truly work for you.
My approach is all about:
Understanding your unique story: I'm genuinely curious about your experiences and what makes you, well, you.
Uncovering the root causes: We’ll dig deeper to ensure long lasting change.
Creating a safe and supportive space: I aim for therapy to be a safe space for learning and unlearning. A space of support and challenge, where you don’t have to be anyone but yourself.
Finding what works best for you: I use a variety of approaches, so we can tailor our sessions to your specific needs and preferences.
Helping you grow: I'll gently encourage you to reflect on your experiences and challenge you to both learn and unlearn.
I'm here to support you as you navigate this messy world. Let's connect and see how I can help you feel more like yourself.

To become a psychologist I studied for 6 years. This included an undergraduate degree at Monash University, post graduate studies at The Cairnmillar Institute and an internship year under supervision. Since completing my studies I have become a Board Approved Supervisor, and EMDR trained therapist.
In true psychology nerd style, I will be returning to uni in 2025 to study a Master of Clinical Psychology so watch this space.

I have been practicing as a Psychologist for 6 years. I started working in the criminal justice system, as well as spending some time as a school psychologist (absolute polar opposites or what!). During the COVID years I split my time between the criminal justice system, community mental health services and private practice.
In 2023 I decided to open my solo practice, Being Human Psychology, and haven’t looked back.

Anything that your grandmother enjoys as a hobby, you can assume that I do, as well. I spend my weekends pottering around the house, bird-watching, baking, feeling warm sunshine on my face, reading, and playing with my cats and dogs.
I also really enjoy weightlifting and spent 10 years as an avid powerlifter, maybe that applies to your grandmother too?
